Visit From a World Champ

DorianSpiveyCongratulations to Dorian Spivey  for winning the WBA-NABA Junior Lightweight Boxing Title. His current win ranks him in the top 10 of his weight class in the WBA (World  Boxing Association) which is the oldest, most prestigious boxing organization in the world.

Dorian is scheduled to defend his world title in February on ESPN, possibly right here in Virginia. Defending his title and winning will make him the mandatory #1 contender for the WBA World Title.

spivey_koGoing into his title fight, Dorian was ranked 12-1 underdog. Dorian beat all odds by knocking out his opponent Meacher Major of the Bahamas in the 4th round in a bout scheduled for 12.

Dorian Spivey (picuted center) has been a long time friend of HTC boxing coach Pete Yates (pictured left) and Team Hybrid Head Coach Buck Grant (pictured right). he currently trains at Bushido MMA with Boxing Coach Hunter and MMA head Coach Greg Smith for the majority of his boxing training.

Congrats again to our local champion, Dorian Spivey. Team Hybrid is proud to call you a friend.
