Bushido MMA was host to Brazilian Jiu-jistu legend Royler Gracie today and the HTC staff was present. Our very own Black Belt Instructor Scott Oates, MMA Head Coach Buck Grant, and BJJ Instructor Steve Nelson were present to train with Royler.
Royler Gracie, son to Helio Gracie who is the founding father of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, has spent his entire life passing on his family’s martial art. Royler, a black belt since 18 years of age, is also responsible for giving Saulo Ribiero his BJJ black belt and has inspired people of all kinds to partake in the art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
We want to thank our BJJ brothers of Bushido MMA for allowing us the opportunity to train with such an inspiration such as Royler Gracie. If you’re in the Portsmouth Virginia are, check out Greg Smith and Allan Merullo, owners and operators of Bushido MMA. As the only other fellow Ribiero Jiu-jitsu affiliates in Hampton Roads, we were honored to train by their side.
