Antwain Britt Fights at Strikeforce Evolution December 19th!

antwain_brittTeam Hybrid’s very own Antwain “The Juggernaut” Britt has been signed to fight Scott Lightly at Strikeforce on December 19th. The event will take place live on Showtime at the HP Pavilaion in San Jose California and this will be Antwain’s Strikeforce debut.

“The Ultimate Fighter 8″ alumni Antwain Britt has spent his two year MMA career training with Coach Buck Grant and Team Hybrid. Winning his fight to get into the TUF house was not enough to keep him on the show due to a hand injury against Ryam Jimmo.

This only proved to be a minor set back for the resilient “Juggernaut.” His most noticeable accomplishment as of recent, was his 8 second knock out of UFC veteran Antonio Mendez and his Iron Man performance in an 8 man tournament at Vendetta FC in Aruba. Britt dispatched of UFC vet in Carmello Morrero and King of the Cage champ Richard Hale all in one  night before loosing to newly signed  UFC fighter Rodney Wallace.

Scott LightlyBritt will face kickboxer and former K1 fighter Scott Lightly for his Strikeforce debut. Lightly in 5-0 in MMA competition, with 4 KO’s to his credit. Britt, however, is by far the best competition Lightly has ever faced. It could prove to be fight of the night!

The Strikeforce card will air live on Showtime and features Cung Lee, former world middleweight champion, vs. Scott “Hands of Steel”  Smith.

Team Hybrid has been the choice for the Elite of MMA competitors in the Hampton Roads area. Other athletes that have trained under Coach Buck Grant’s tutelage include UFC fighter Brandon “The Truth” Vera, newly acquired WEC fighter Mackens “Tha Menace” Semerzier, and TUF competitors Dave Kaplain and Dorian Price.

Congrats to the Antwain “Juggernaut” Britt. Wish him a “Good Hunting” on December 19th and watch the fight live on Showtime that night.  He will represent Team Hybrid and Hampton Roads proudly.
